LF&C "Hunter's Pride" BOWIE KNIFE w/original sheath rare 8" blade EXCELLENT 1910 - $299 - (Derby, VT)
Here's a fine old Landers, Frary & Clark UNIVERSAL Hunter's Pride bowie hunting knife. Made in New Britain, Ct. I estimate it was made pre-WW1, around 1910 or so. The knife measures 12.25" overall with the blade a full 8". You find this knife fairly often with the 6" blade but this is the first one I've seen with an 8" blade. Has been used and sharpened with some light nicks and scratches but no pitting or scars. Nice original finish and hasn't been buffed. Nickel silver guard. Handle is imitation stag made from celluloid and has a real gnarly texture and integral pommel. Flat nickel silver buttcap. Comes in its equally rare original leather sheath, which is in excellent condition for 100 year old leather. A great knife. Guaranteed to please the new owner or I'll buy it back.
