WWII GERMAN ELITE UNITS MEDICAL DIRECT BLOOD TRANSFUSION SET B.BRAUN SS TROOPS - $550 - (Cape Girardeau, MO)

Offered to you is this Very Rare antique medical WW2 German Elite Forces set for direct blood transfusion in great condition. These sets were used only by the Wehrmacht Elite Units doctors for urgent direct blood transfusion from a soldier to his wounded comrade in front line conditions. Only Elite Forces soldiers had their blood group tattooed on their arm specifically for the purpose of life saving blood transfusion in battlefield conditions. Therefore these sets were only issued and used by doctors in the Elite divisions. These tattoos were one of the giveaway signs that helped identify Elite Forces soldiers after the war. Through this technique lots of lives of heavily wounded men were saved. In relation to this, the German army was the first to introduce the practice of registering the blood type groups of the soldiers. The set is made by the B.BRAUN MELSUNGEN company and is marked "Gerät zur direkten Bluttransfusion". It features a metal plate with stand, 10cc glass and brass syringe, three rubber pipes with needle endings, metal distributor with valve. All comes in original fitted metal box.
