Original conversion to a footstool was in the 1950s. The base was painted white & the cushion made & upholstered in a pistachio green vinyl. The last owners painted it black & had the seat covered in a very, very nice brown faux leather. Seats well, soft & springs back nicely. Heavy cast iron base with claassic Victorian era lines. Adds character & comfort to the den, cave, library, office, bedroom, sunroom, covered porch.Pictures show actual piece & condition.
