US Union Army Civil War AMES 1861 SWORD, Civil War Sword,AMES MFG. CO - $500 - (Two Harbors, MN)

I know nothing about civil war swords but I think I captured all the markings on this sword in my photos. Seems like a pretty nice sword but like I said I'm no expert! Scabbard has a break where the brass tip ends which you can see in pictures. Also a little weak spot in the leather about half way down. Not broken, just got a little kinked at one time.
