This auction contains the parts needed to add the 'End Of Tape Mod' to a Studer A80, A80R or A80RC 1.081.393 Command Receiver Card The auction includes the parts shown in the upper-right hand corner of the photo ONLY. The card on the left side of the photo is NOT INCLUDED in the auction and is shown for reference only. The 'stock' A80 End Of Tape detection requires that both the left and right side sensors be de-activated before tape stops moving. This kit modifies that behavior, allowing either the left OR right side tension sensor to halt tape movement. This gentler tape handling is considerably safer especially when dealing with older, more delicate tapes. This kit utilizes a combination of a high-quality transistor and a 1/4w, high-tolerance metal film resistor to modify the behavior of the 'End Of Tape' function on a Studer A80 tape machine.I have performed this modification on my personal machine and can attest, it works flawlessly. Each kit does (1) one 1.081.393 card. Basic illustrated instructions included with kit, professional installation available for an additional per-card fee.
