Antique Victorian 14K Gold Large Citrine Solitaire Brooch PendantDates to the mid to late Victorian era, circa 1880. Crafted in solid 14K yellow gold or better (actually acid tests higher, and is likely 15CT - a British standard many moons ago). Not hallmarked, but carefully tested. Large and gorgeous light & sunny yellow citrine is an modified cushion cut with a large top facet. The bezel-set stone measures approximately 19 mm by 16 mm, and has an estimated weight of 16.5 carats. Surrounded with a hand-etched & wire wrapped frame. The brooch measures 0.99" by 0.88", and weighs 5.5 grams. The back of the brooch has the original antique C clasp and tube-hinge steel pin. At some point in time, a simple O ring bail has been added so that the brooch can be worn as a pendant. This could easily be removed or improved up as desired.
