They are called DORMEUSES or sleepers, that implies that you do not take them off at night. They were made in France (see French Eagle hallmark), circa 1890. These exquisite earrings feature two old miner cut diamonds set in a lovely antique mounting with 2 single cut diamonds set on top. Each old mine cut diamond is .22 carat actual weight. We had the diamonds out of the mountings to weigh. The single cuts are about 1 point each. The diamonds are estimated to be very clean VS-2 in clarity and HI in color (near colorless). Grand total diamond weight is .46 carats for the pair. Very sparkly!! There is a tiny chip under the prong on 1 diamond, you cannot see it and it mentioned here for accuracy per EBAY rules. These earrings are crafted in rich 18K yellow gold. They measure 13.4mm (about 5/8") tall x 4.5mm wide. They are for pierced ears with secure desirable European French backs.
