Original circa 1910-1930's Hubley Toy Co. standing Indian with tomahawk cast iron still bank. This example has an original & very rare paint colors combination. It features the multi-colored headdress in combination with the two colored wrist & arm bands. It is very rare to find the multi-colored headdress on an Indian with tomahawk still bank! In over 50 years of looking at still banks we have never seen another example which had both the multi-colored headdress & the two colored wrist & arm bands. So, this is really an exceptionally rare example for the paint variation enthusiast. The bank measures 5 7/8 inches tall. The weight of this beautiful Indian still bank is 14 ounces. The bank was made by the Hubley Toy Company in Lancaster, Pa. This bank recently turned up in a Lancaster County, Pa. estate a few miles from where the bank was originally made. In assorted references we have seen various dates listed for the time frame which Hubley produced this bank.The time frame which we are giving covers the total range of dates which we found. An example of this bank is pictured & listed in the Still Bank Book by Andy Moore on page # 73 item # 228. The bank is complete & all original with no repairs, no replacement components, & no touch ups. The bank is in excellent condition with a pleasing luster & the paint shows only minor wear.
