Original circa 1890's-1910 cast iron figure of a black kid riding a goose for a Gong Bell Toy Co. toy. This figure is from a bell ringing pull toy made by the Gong Bell Toy Company of East Hampton, Connecticut. This figure is from the bell toy listed as No. 58 in the 1902-1903 Gong catalog which had the title of "Goose With Rider". This figure would have balanced on the feet & rocked from side to side suspended on a wheeled platform. The thin metal wire that would run in under the feet of the goose is where this figure snapped off from the base. The figure measures 3 1/8 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches long. There is some rust & the original paint on the figure shows heavy wear. But, a good bit of the original paint is present. There are no chips, no cracks, & no repairs to this iron goose with black kid riding. The goose still retains the original metal wire in the mouth from which the bell (not present) would have originally hung.
