Rare! Disney's Song of the South Laserdisc Bilingual Japanese LD - $100 - (Cheyenne, WY)
This is an NTSC LaserDisc it will not work in a DVD or BluRay player! A very rare Japanese copy of Disney's Song of the South. The disc is bilingual with Japanese audio in one channel and the original English in the other channel. This movie soundtrack is mono, use the output selector on you LaserDisc player to pick the right channel. There is both digital and analog audio and the audio setup with Japanese in one channel and English in the other is the same for the analog and digital versions of the audio. Song of the South was produced in 1946 by Disney and released by RKO Radio Pictures. It's a live/animated musical film and has been criticized for its depiction of black freedmen and race relations in Georgia in the Reconstruction Era. Because of it being criticized for racism it has never been released in the U.S. on home video. The only option to get this movie are on EU PAL VHS releases or the Japanese NTSC laserdisc edition sold here.
