These are 19th century Meissen dessert or luncheon plates. they have the crossed swords pommel mark which places them between 1850 and 1920. They look as though they have never been used. The colors are bold and there is not one sign of usage. They measure 8 1/4 inches in diameter and sit 1 1/4 inches off the table. These plates have a reticulated shoulder each with three reserves, all of which are accented with gilt paint. The face of plate and the three reserves are decorated with hand painted flowers in shades of pink, blue, purple, yellow, red and orange along with associated green foliage.
