Antique Turkmen Tekke Khale wedding rug. Approx. 46 X 39 inches (114 X 100 cm). Last quarter 19th c. Wool on wool, with good colours and soft abrash. Spareing use of cochineal. Abundant spacing between guls surrounded by rich borders with variegated placement of flowers in both elems. A patch has been affixed at the top two middle guls and a 4 inch slit is evident in the top right section at the edge of the elem and border.(see images).
