BIG! Vintage Bf Goodrich Advertising Sign 72" Inches Tires Batteries 2-324-GT - $895 - (Turlock, CA)
Nice estate sale pick! Definitely showing some wear and age, which I feel is a great thing because it has character. Still decent overall condition. Issues are scratching in the paint, light surface rust on the back (removeable, shown in photos) and probably the worst part is the edges were slightly bent and home-repaired at some point because as you can see they're a bit wavy. Still good and strong and holds shape well, nice and solid metal sign. It measures 72" x 17" and is roughly an inch thick. Bottom circle logos read: "1870 BFG B.F. Goodrich" The small lettering at the bottom reads: "PROPERTY OF THE B.F. GOODRICH COMPANY MADE IN U.S.A." On the left and "A-M SIGN CO. LYNCHBURG VA., 5-53 STOCK #3-324-GT" on the right hand side. I believe 5-53 to indicate a production date of May 1953. Please correct me if I'm wrong. For shipping, I plan to place rigid foam insulation on both the back and front of sign, stretch wrap that, and then craft a cardboard surround and tape it up well.
