C M Russell postcard collection Ridgely collectors pamphlet tooled leather album - $399 - (Philadelphia, PA)
48 individual C M Russell postcards published by Ridgely All cards are I believe Ridgely, only two are duplicated, 48 cards (not counting the duplicates); a few of the cards are written on, one card has a word whited out on the image (I guess someone found 'shorthorn' offensive); other than that the cards look pretty good Also included is a pamphlet the American Postcard Journal which featured an article on Early Postcards of C M Russell, which includes a list which I think is supposed to be complete of the Ridgely cards although there are a few in the collection which either differ from the list or are not in the list. I could not photograph every card- I have listed the cards. If you would like an additional photo or info on a particular card let me know. The cards are in a tooled leather Indian Chief album, measures 15.5"x12". The headdress has a CM Russell style buffalo on it but I don' know if it is related. The inside of the album is green felt.
