Stunning large 17th Century Pierced Brass Gimbaled Hand Warmer. Bought from an Economics Professor (friend) who said his great great uncle who a missionary to China. bought it there. More likely he bought on his travels going or coming. For your benefit I have included a photo of an Christie's Auction that sold a nearly identical but muchsmaller sphere. It is hand crafted with motif of flowers and peacocks/birds. It has a hinge and a brass hook. A secondbrass hook is missing. The gimbal mechanism on the inside keeps the liquid from every spilling. Itis original as is everything else. The only thing that needs doing is re-attatching the hinge so the topand bottom open but do not separate. Weighs: 2lbs. 12oz.Size: 9"inches Diameter. 9"inches Tall.Shape: Sphere.Excellent Condition. A wonderful UK Ebayer wrote in:"...
