RF Amplifier, Ameritron ALS-600S , solid state no tune up, updated This is a lightly used, fully working, Ameritron ALS-600S, (MFJ) RF amplifier which is a solid state FET amp and requires no tune up. s/n ALS-600 15996. I purchased this amp from HRO in 2013. It is a like new unit from a non smoing environment. As can be seen in the photos it is a later unit with the remote connectors on the front panel allowing remote band control. This unit has had two updates. First is the installed factory kit for 10/12 meters operation. Second is the AD5X QSK relay mod. This replaces the old, really noisy, open frame relay with two much quieter and higher speed relays that are plug in types. Full details on this mod can be found on the AD5X web site. I purchased his kit and did the install and am very glad I did. The unit comes with the ALS-600SPS switching power supply which is a quite, light weight supply. Currently the PS input is set for 220vac but an easy jumper change will set it for to 110vac operation as described in the manual.Shipped to you in the original factory boxes complete with the manual.
