It has a hook to hang it on the wall. You can of course remove the hook and use it on a table if desired. No issues. SIGNED VERY FINE VINTAGE NORWEGIAN CUSTOM PAINTED ROSEMALING WOODEN BOWL. This bowl is hand turned and hand painted in Telemark, Norway. It was customary in our family to commission an accomplished artist to paint a bowl to give as a present on a special occasions. This example is from 1975. It says (in dialect) "Varme tanker gode ord, Spreder lykke på vår jord." Loosly translates to: Warm thoughts and good words, spread happiness on our earth". As current today as ever. The bowl is approximately 11-12" diameter and 4 1/2-5" standing pedestal bowl.
