Ode Vintage Long Neck Banjo c.1967-68 Made in Boulder, CO - $1,200 - (Northampton, MA)

For sale is an absolutely amazing long neck banjo made by Ode. This beautiful 32 1/4" scale length banjo was made by the Ode company of Boulder, CO either in 1967 or 1968. It boasts two headstock drop tuners and two additional 'railroad spikes' for the drone string, allowing you access to a multitude of different tunings all very quickly, and a cast aluminum pot. This banjo is tonally superior to the incredible majority of long neck or standard scale length 5-strings you will find out there, with excellent clarity and projection but a deepness in its resonance that is rare to find in any instrument. Cosmetically in good condition, the head is structurally sound albeit a little dirty. The neck is in good shape and very playable. This is a very rare instrument, and a seriously elegant and tonally rich player to boot! Included with the banjo is the original hardshell case as well.
