1927 GIBSON TB-3 NO HOLE ARCHTOP BANJO ROBIN SMITH 5 STRING CONVERSION - $3,750 - (Waterbury, CT)

This is a 1927 Gibson TB-3 banjo. It has a no-hole archtop tone ring. It exsist with a Robin Smith 5 string neck. Robin did the whole conversion and you can see what was done in  the pic of the invoice. The neck is phenomenal and is a dream to play. It has the same inlays as its original tenor neck. Besides the new neck every thing is original. It has some play wear but nothing that affects the playability.      It has spikes installed and a Brazilian fret board. The no hole ring gives this banjo a very unique tone. It's hard to explain but it's not like a typical archtop. Not like a flathead but close and not as harsh as a 40 hole AT.    It comes with a new hard shell case and the original tenor neck.
