1958 Guild F-20 Vintage Acoustic Guitar - $1,195 - (South Bend, IN)
this is a great little guitar that i bought from the original owner many years ago. i believe it's totally original. it's x-braced with a spruce top and maple back and sides. it has a brazilian fingerboard and bridge. the nut is 1 and 5/8ths but is spaced out close to the edge and plays like it was a little wider. the neck is dead straight and other than slight wear of the first 2 frets, they are great.. it has no cracks. the sound is warm and dry... very well-suited for fingerstyle but it sounds nice with a pick too. the action is slightly higher than 3/32nds at the bass side 12th fret. it plays very easily. now for the negatives...the finish has partly flaked off the back and doesn't look that great. the rest of the finish is really nice so i don't know why it's done this. the back brace close to the neck block is missing. the back is very solid without it so i never worried about fixing it. and, there is a minor crack in the bridge that has never moved in the years i've had it. there is also a place on the back binding that isn't quite flush. i think that's it. these things can be addressed but if they don't bother you, why bother? it has a really cool original chipboard case too. this is a rare and special little guitar that i am selling AS IS for the reasons i've mentioned and i've priced accordingly.
