This is a RARE 18" tall EXCELLENT CONDITION Sicilian marionette puppet representing a medieval knight from the Sicilian puppet theater stage Opera dei Pupi. Hand carved wood, hand painted face and details, and hand formed and thinly pounded copper & brass armor, helmet, boots, shield, breastplate, shoulder pads, leg armor, kneepads, wrist guards, neck guard etc. He still has his sword. His body is jointed and all handmade of wood. The helmet has a visor which can be raised or lowered. Beautifully painted face, very detailed and realistic hand painted features. Rods maneuver the hands. Has his original tag. Has been stored all these years. Smoke free home.
