Beautiful Weaving Boat ShuttleFrom Rich Black Walnut with Rosewood Inserts One 4" Bobbin Handmade by Local Oregon Coast Craftsman While its primary native region is the Midwest and east-central United States, the black walnut was introduced into Europe in 1629. It is cultivated there and in North America as a forest tree for its high-quality wood. Each shuttle has its individual look, depending upon the grain. This one has Rosewood Inserts which are subtle, but beautiful. The rod for holding the bobbin is secured in place at both ends using hidden magnets. This allows for a sleek clean look on the top, bottom and sides of the shuttle. This shuttle is open on the top and bottom. The tips are 1/8" above the center of the shuttle. This helps avoid the shuttle digging into the bottom warp threads. Overall length 10 3/4" ; Exterior width 1 5/8" Exterior depth 15/16" ; Interior Area for thread 4" x 15/16".
