Wallace Nutting Brace & Comb Back Windsor Chair. Wallace Nutting sought to reproduce the finest examples of Windsor Chairs beginning in 1917. His bench made Windsor chairs were targeted for higher income families during the Great Depression and carried a high price tag. Nutting original used paper tages to identify his furniture, but do to forgeries, he decided to brand his name into the underside of the chairs. Wallace Nutting Windsor chairs are highly sought after and collectable. This example is made of pine, maple and hickory, featuring turned post, leg stretchers, carved ears on top on top crest, continuous arms in original varnish. Chair is in fine condition. Branded Wallace Nutting on the underside of the seat saddle. 21" X 20 1/2" X 45 1/4" H. Seat is 18". I also have another example on ebay that goes well with this chair.
