For your consideration is a pair of flatirons or sad irons made in Geneva, IL. I am selling both of these irons for one amount of money. Irons of this type were manufactured 1870-1900, These irons both have a 7 on them, which stands for 7 pounds. On each iron, from the point to the center of the heel is slightly more than 5 3/4" and each heel is slightly more than 3 1/2" wide. These two irons are a matching pair. They have been painted black and are decorated with green & white painted designs. They were used as book ends. One has had felt upholstery applied to the ironing surface. They are old items that were used as irons and then repurposed as book ends or doorstops. Please, carefully examine the pictures.
