Flak Doppelfernrohr & in Transit Chest; E. Busch, marked CXN. Nice Clear Opticss - $2,595 - (Casper, WY)

German MilitaryFlak Doppelfernrohr Antiaircraft Binoculars in Transit Chest!Manufactured by Emil Busch, RathenowOriginal and unrestored for Advanced Collectors! These binoculars are over 75 years old, but the optics are still in excellent condition; they should at some point be cleaned, but they are very usable "as is," and are in perfect collimation. The original paint is still attractive as is the finish on the sunshades. There is a 4 position filter wheel which rotates freely with undue effort, and the filters are all undamaged. Eyepieces rotate freely, and the inter-ocular separation dial is fully functional. These Busch glasses are marked with the code "cxn" in order to identify the manufacturer, and 2 lubrication codes are also incused into the body. The Small-type Transit Chest is included as part of the package: Chest, Binoculars, and Glare shield-Headrest. Everything is entirely "Original--as made."Specifications: 10X80; Erfle eyepieces (wide angle). There were 7 different manufacturers of these glasses, but the Busch factory manufactured more than any other; these were designed for the German Military by Busch, and were subsequently licensed to E. Leitz, Schneider, Carl Zeiss, R. Fuess, Goerz, Vienna, and others for the war effort. These were very popular war trophys at one time, but most have subsequently vanished into collections. These were fairly available until about 1997 for around $1,000-$1,200 for average condition glasses, but that supply has long since dried up. These are highly sought after for astronomical use, especially for viewing the Milky Way and star clusters! Better quality binoculars as these brought more even then. For U.S. Buyers we'll include free shipping; we participate in the International Shipping program, so we'll ship to the eBay shipping center free. Our price for these wonderful military glasses: $2,595. We will also consider REASONABLE offers.
