Antique Early American Sampler Margaret Widdleton's Sampler Finished Sep 23 1816 This wonderful sampler is in very good condition and has been framed under glass in a serving tray. The tray is from the 1930s and has brass handles with wood inserts. Sampler has uniform letters/alphabet and numbers. There is some fading due to age. The bottom sentiment reads "the modest snowdrop, emblem of fair truth, conveys this lesson to the thoughtless youth. That measuring worth will ever find, a warm reception in a generous mind!" Tray is approximately 18.5 X 13.5 X1 .75 inches tall. This wonderful item comes from a smoke free Estate.
