National 8 Track Player, Panasonic TNT RQ-830S Black, Very Rare - $1,999 - (Lake Park, MN)
The National RQ 8 is obviously for the serious collector.If you have a White and Clear one, this has your interest.I have seen 2 black ones in 45 years of working on these.I have decided to give one up.These were made at the end of the TNT run and only for Japan.Black only went to premium distributors.As for production numbers, I don't know. Maybe 2.I have only lightly serviced it, as to not disrupt originality.It plays perfectly, and the interior looked new.The exterior has light scratches and scuffs here and there.Battery compartment is very nice, museum quality.I have tested both matching external speakers and verified play.I did not get them both to play at the same time.I didn't try very hard, probably a cord issue.These have become too valuable to listen to,which is a shame.Box is a TNT replica for shipping and storage.Pet and smoke free home and shop. These came in Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Clear and Black.White and Clear are very rare, Black is the rarest. Let me know if you have a tough color.I pay top dollar for any 70's audio collections.
