The frame has a crack along the bottom lip. provenance: The artist. Gift from the above to Ms. Maude Archer. Private Collection, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The auction catalog references a partial Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art Exhibition label verso dated 1929. No such label is present. Just a few remnants. Under u.v. light there is no visible restoration; canvas is not relined. Verso of canvas has some staining – the staining does not appear on the front of the canvas. The canvas has visible craquelure. As seen in catalogue photo, there are several areas with missing chips of paint. They are: lower center, upper center and lower center left. At the latter area the canvas has sustained some mechanical damage: there is an indentation in canvas in this area, with corresponding area on verso pushed outward.
