Very Rare Artist Nancy Erickson 1979 Red Rain #2 Rabbit Quilt Wall Hanging - $650 - (Mchenry, IL)

Here is a quilt that was made by the famous artist and quilter Nancy Erickson. From all my research I have found Nancy wrote books on quilting and a large number of her works hang in Museums and she has had a number of successive exhibitions. The quilt here is called Red Rain #2 and is 105" high and 88" wide. The label reads sewn appliqued fabrics 1979 Nancy N Erickson, Dancing Rabbit Studio. There is also a hem on the top to put a rod throw for hanging and is stitched with her name, address and year. On the back as show there is some bleeding and is show in the picture. I am sure it could use a cleaning but I wouldn't want to try it and will leave that to a pro.The front of this has no spots, no rips (front and back) and the colors are fantastic. This came out of a house in Chicago that the family was clearing out. I had bought a couple of things from them and as I was walking out they were throw quilts over the banister from the upstairs. This one went by my face and just had to have it as I had a felling it was special. "
