1912 23 Jewel Hamilton Grade 950**First Run** Runs Great & Keeping V/G Time - $1,250 - (Newfane, VT)

This is a first run 16s 23 Jewel Hamilton Grade 950P. It runs very well and it keeps very good time. This is an as found condition first run movement in its original case. Its service history is unknown. This movement is signed with serial number 750324 and it was finished in February of 1912 and sold out in May of 1912. The first movement of the grade 950 was movement # 750201, 500 units were produced in that first run, 750201-750700. Hamilton went on to produce well over 20,000 grade 950 movements. Only 4,400 of those were pendant sets. This movement is from the first run in 1912 and is Hamilton Grade 950 #134. Cased in a very nice 14K YGF Fahys Bristol 3 hinge half hunter. This watch does show some daily use wear but it is very good condition. There are some small areas of light brassing around the body of the case and a bit on the bezel at the seam. It doesn't catch the eye and you have to look, really look for it. It was likely a career daily carry for someone. The back cover is similar, I think it is in very good condition, but it does show the light marks you would expect from contact with coins or fob chains etc. It has no monograms or inscriptions. The 3 hinges all work very well and stop at 90 degrees. And close to a nice tight seal. I have hand buffed and restored this to as far as I think I can. I have removed many of the years and much of the surface wear. These photo's are new and updated for this listing. A very nice example of the grade 950P.
