Antique Vtg BRASS Wood Handle Coal Ash Bin Fireplace Fire Scuttle Box 1850 - $196 - (Amana, IA)
Greetings and welcome to our auction. Today we are offering a very nice, vintage, BRASS ash box. I acquired this out of a private estate. There is a tag that I found inside of it that reads: ANTIQUE ENGLISH COAL BOX with SHOVEL. CIRCA 1850. This has a wooden handle. The front of the box has a pretty design with floral pattern, urns, and dragons. The box measures 11" across, 14" high to top of handle, 14 3/4" from front to back. There is a liner for the box as shown in the 10th photo. I believe the liner was purchased separately and it is removal as shown in the 11th photo. This appears to be in very nice, gently used vintage condition. I don't see any holes or breaks on this. There is discoloration as associated with age. There is very slight surface wear on the top. Please refer to all photos. All in all a very pretty antique ash box. Please LOOK at my other listings, you just might see something else of interest.
