Andrews Bb Trumpet Description: Andrews Bb Trumpet. Serial # TX5029A. .459” bore. Silver plated. Monel valves. Andrews trumpets were made for a short time in the early 90s. It was an independent company founded by Charles Andrews, the former owner of the Getzen Company. The company was a collaboration between Andrews, M&K Drawing, former Getzen employees and trumpet players of the Milwaukee Symphony. Parts were sourced primarily from Kanstul and M&K. The leadpipes were produced and assembled by M&K. They were intended to be very “high end”, and were made in very small numbers. The people who produced them tried for the highest quality and took a lot of pride in the trumpets. The second valve casing is inscribed with the initials of the person that assembled the horn, who was a former Getzen employee. This trumpet previously belonged to Milwaukee Symphony trumpeter Dennis Najoom. The trumpet is in excellent condition, and plays very well. It has great response and intonation, and is very even through the registers. The sound is vibrant and has a lot of color. No case or mouthpiece.
