Vintage (Rare) Goya GC-45 (Japan) Classical Guitar Serial# 831115 - $3,000 - (Duxbury, MA)
I have no idea what this is! It came to me from my 87 year old mother-in-law. She bought it at a thrift store in MD in the 1990s. It plays well and has a chipboard case which looks to be original and in very good condition! Headstock is very unusual shape (butterfly?) as it is not like anything I have seen on any other Goya guitars out there. Tailpiece also has a unique white with a woodgrain overlay on it? This could be a prototype or just very rare. Serial number is 831115 on neck block just a white paper label with 10019 on it? Goya tag is also very simple and has another tag on top that says made in Japan GC-45?! This could be a rare guitar or a knock off copy...have no idea. I don't think it is, but I really don't know. I am putting this out as is and willing to negotiate a deal. I am still doing research and may take it down if I find it's worth more. I am taking a risk here, but then again so would you be in buying this. I have no claims that this is an actual Goya-GC-45. If this is it was probably made 1983. Craftsmanship is very good! And overall this guitar has almost no flaws that I can see. Good luck! I have seen very similar style guitars made by Faustian-Conde, but this is not that! Again, it is difficult to say what this guitar is based on the available information...but it is unique and may have value!
