Chokwe Mask Angola Zambia DR of Congo - $369 - (Johnson City, TN)

For your consideration is a great old Chokwe mask/headdress made from wood and fibers. It is about 9" from bottom of chin to top of hat and is missing a portion of hat in the back (see photo). Otherwise, it is in very good condition. The Chokwe people are an ethnic group of Central and Southern Africa. They are found primarily in Angola, south-western parts of Democratic Republic of the Congo, and northwestern parts of Zambia. Their ancestry is likely mixed and traced to aboriginal Mbundu and Mbuti Pygmies.
