I assumed she was the artist although, in retrospect, that never came up for discussion. Long story short, these were/are made by Agnes Larsen. They were friends, but the connection didn't occur.The identifying information is shown by the "AEL - Honolulu" marking on the lower/back of the ceramic heads. See photos.I've included several shots, and there is also a shot of just a Wahine figure in Mark Blackburn's book 22 years ago.As collectors would identify, these are a very, very rare pair.No cracks or chips to the ceramic part (heads) of the dolls. There is a very, very small "rub" on the forehead of each doll, but it did not register on the photos. And, as shown, there are teeny places of color loss on the hair of these. There's also an old hit of tar on the left/posterior forearm of the Kane, as shown.These will be a thrilling acquisition for a collector, no doubt about it.
