Avalon VT-737 Tube Vintage Mic Pre - $1,400 - (Branson, MO)

Excellent Vintage Avalon VT 737. Considered a collector’s item. (Personally crafted by Wynton Morro)The VT-737 is a single-channel, vacuum-tube, class-A device that combines a tube mic preamp, DI, compressor, and parametric equalizer in a 2U rack-mount package Photo is of actual VT 737•Class A preamp design with three input selections •Opto-compressor with minimum signal path •Sweepable EQ and hardwired bypassVU meter bulb went out couple days ago. Have not ordered a bulb as of yet.You have to "un-rack" the 737 and take the top cover off. Push down slightly on the lamp and turn slightly CCW. It will pop out. It's wise to replace all of them at the same time. The original meter lamps can be either 14.4 Volt/80 mA or 14.4 Volt/100mA miniature bayonet mount (BA9s base) lamps. A No. 1813 is a perfect replacement. Farnell UK sells those as part number: 1795486 for £0.25 each. If you want a slightly brighter meter face use a 14.4 Volt/120mA No. 53. It's a commonly available torch bulb and should be easily obtainable through any electronics supplier or even a hardware store. It has a spherical envelope, but will still work.Allied Electronics sells the 14 Volt/200 mA No. 1815 which is a brighter, longer life version (3000 hours instead of the "normal" 1000 hours). They should be able to get those at Allied in Edinburgh. Don't know if there are any Allied stores on the West coast. Thanks for looking
