Rare Antique Parian Doll Snood Hair 16" Untinted Bisque China Head Type Nice VTG DESCRIPTION Click on the pictures down the side of the description to enlarge and view as a slide show. Early and rare parian china head doll with unusual hair style with snood. The doll is approximately 16 inches tall. The shoulder plate head is approximately 3 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall. Her upper body is leather with very delicate arms and hands. I did not remove the pantaloons which are stitched closed. I think the body may be leather down to her knees with fabric legs and shoes that look like they have been added later. She is wearing an antique slip that I believe has handmade lace panels. In regard to condition, there is no damage to the head or porcelain portion of the arms and hands. Leather body is worn and patched. The legs from the knees down and shoes are made of fabric and later additions. This is a great early doll. It was previously owned by a doll collector whose record book shows that it was purchased in 1978 from the Summers Doll Museum. An old string price tag on the doll says "see page 408 in Coleman's Encylopedia". This doll is pictured on page 408 of Dorothy Coleman's Collector's Encyclopedia of Dolls and identified as a doll in the Coleman collection. (itemgn) SHIPPING We ship most items by priority mail.
