The sides are painted black, arrives pre-wired ready to hang with attached hardware. The 1" side depth allows display off the wall without framing, or you may frame if desired.Several coats of varnish is applied to protect the painting's surface from dust and ultraviolet rays. The back of the canvas is yellowed, which is signs of an aged canvas and spotted. Does not affect the display of the top canvas.
