The Wizard of Oz was released in 1939 and the Musical has stood the test of time becoming an icon of American culture. Nominated for six Academy awards it won for Best Original Song “Over The Rainbow” and Best Original Score. Initially a box office disappointment it was not until CBS televised the movie in 1956 did it gain notoriety as one of the best-known films in movie history. Seen here is a collage featuring two signed Checks and two signed Cards. The Signed checks feature Judy Garland who played “Dorothy”, and Jack Haley who played the “Tin Man”. Two signatures on cards of Ray Bolger who played the “Scarecrow” and Bert Lahr who played the “Cowardly Lion” are present also. A small movie poster and a copy of the lyrics to “Over the Rainbow” feature also. All matted in tan and gold matt with gold filet highlighting the movie poster.
