Vintage Kay O Kauai Sewing Kit Advertising Hawaii HI Dressmaker 1960s 1970s - $9 - (Littleton, CO)

Vintage advertising sewing kit from dressmaker Kay O' Kauai circa 1960s/1970s. From a 1967 article "Kay and Roger Hazard, formerly of San Clemente...Weary of the proverbial rat race, they sold their home, he resigned his job, and they settled (in Kauai), alert to fill a need. The "need" turned out to be a shirt and muumuu business known as "Kay O' Kauai" with shops at the Poipu Beach and Coco Palms hotels. Kay, a slim, tiny creature who always liked sewing but had never done it (or anything) for money, now finds herself supervising 25 island lady sewers. Five sew in the factory...The rest of the ladies do piecemeal sewing in their homes on their own time. Obviously, no two of Kay's creations are the same!" Very good vintage condition. Some fading to words and slight curve to edge of case. Sewing kit appears unused. Please examine all pictures carefully as they are an important part of the description. Vintage items are decades old and therefore some age-related wear is to be expected. Payment is due within one day of purchase. No international shipping. No returns. Shipping quote is to continental US only; please contact me for a shipping quote to Alaska or Hawaii.
