Hitachi D-5500 M Stereo Cassette Recorder with Remote & Original French Manual - $1,200 - (Victoria, BC)

Turns on and the remote control works with 4 AA batteries which are not included.  When I press play the tape head lifts up and engage but the tape does not move.  Fast forward and rewind also try to engage but does not move the tape.  The lights come on for the play, fast forward, rewind, stop, and record.  I'm not sure what the problem is.  It may be a belt but I do not have the expertise to fix it. Being sold "as is" for parts or repair.  Cosmetically the deck is in excellent condition with very little physical wear.  There is one small lever end missing (see last photo).  Please email with any questions!
