These are a great advance over the electronic pet doors already manufactured by this company.The collar keys are RFID chips--the latest thing in collar key technology.These cat doors come with two such collar keys. The company refers to these as "electronic ID disc". They are waterproof.The Super Elite can accommodate a total of 8 keys. Extra keys may be purchased.These doors, of course, are designed to let your cats in and keep other critters out. This is accomplished by using a lock that inserts up the middle of the flap. Thus the flap can't be pushed in or pulled out. The company claims that this feature makes it raccoon proof--a very important consideration for some people.This cat door also includes a 4-way locking device.They are "self-framing" out to 2". The Cat Mate 308 wall liner units may be added to allow installation in walls to any thickness. Each unit adds 2" to the tunnel length and the cat door itself provides the last 2" adjustment to ensure a tight fit.Will support 8 collar keys while the regular selective handles 7.Can track each of the RFID tags separately allowing individual access control.
