Kinetic Saturdays': a fine art museum and a theater - N.A. - (Nogales, AZ)
Mat Bevel Company opens its doors on March 4, 2017 for ‘Kinetic Saturdays’ from five to 8 pm at Mat Bevel’s Museum Of Kinetic Art (MOKA). The museum contains nearly 100 mechanical fine art sculptures all made from recycled items. During ‘Kinetic Saturdays,’ the artist performs with and wears the sculptures throughout the evening as part of his Surrealistic Pop Science Theater. The theater’s story takes place in the fantastical world of Beveldom, “the lost land of found objects.” MOKA is a thirty-year collection of found object sculptures made by sculptor, poet and performer Ned Schaper. This large fine art installation is an A.R.T. lab is built on the principles of Available Resource Technology. The museum encourages awareness, resourcefulness and original thinking as an alternative to consumerism.
