'Standard Issue' looking for jazz bass player - N.A. - (Pittsburgh, PA)
LOOKING FOR BASS PLAYER WHO CAN CREATE INTERESTING BASS LINES FROM A LEAD SHEET. MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK. My band's name is 'Standard Issue'. Like 'Standard' as in jazz standard and 'Issue', like issue vinyl. Jazz, tune, solos. Simple. I know this repertoire well. Influences: Chet Baker, Johnny Hartman, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Michael Buble, Harry Connick, Jr., Ray Charles, Bobby Blue Bland, Buddy Greco, Norah Jones, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Alice Ricciardi, Bobby Darin, Brian Setzer, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Chuck Berry, Dianne Reeves. Matt Monro. 4- pc. Drums, keys, bass, vocalist. I HAVE THE DRUMS, KEYS, AND VOCALS (myself), JUST NEED THE BASS. Looking to gig around town. (Greater Pittsburgh Area). Once the group gels, I'm looking to record a 5 song EP for demo/ promotional purposes. I have the space for a simple recording and I'll handle the design. I'm the singer and I know this repertoire well. I've sung wih a 17- pc big band and a jazz combo for well over 15- yrs. Outside of jazz rep, I play guitar a bit and sing. I want a young band, playing jazz standards, in hip clubs, for young/ young minded people who would dig this type of music.
