LobZang (male): Name means "Noble-minded" in Tibetan. Largest of litter, red with white neck and chest; all 4 paws have white tips; back paws both have standard four toes; Animated + charming. Our family of 6 lived on the western China Tibetan Plateau for ten years, 7 of those in a Tibetan village in the remote nomadic grasslands. There, in the high-altitude homeland of the Tibetan Mastiff, dogs are relied upon for herding sheep and yaks, protection, and devoted companionship. They are fiercely loyal and highly intelligent, well suited for colder climates. Tibetan Mastiffs are adaptable as house dogs but prefer the outdoors, even in freezing temperatures. During the past decade plus, our family has owned many loving TMs as we are enamored of their homeland, the people who originally bred them, and the dogs themselves.
