This is an old cedar box made by D.F. Duncan in Chicago around the late 1940's to early 1950's. Donald F. Duncan is credited for popularizing the yo-yo here in the US after he seen them in San Francisco on a trip there in 1928. It is stamped in the wood on the bottom "D.F. Duncan 16 N. Elizabeth St. Chicago" in a diamond. It was hard to see at first, I almost missed it. This is a small cedar box with the Fleur De Lis copper hinges and decorations on the front. It is 7 3'8" long by 4 1/4" wide and 3 1/4" tall with 1/4" tall feet that are 1" long. The copper hinges have some patina to them, I did not try to polish them. This would be great to keep some of your Duncan yo-yos in.
