Antique French Hand Painted Silk Fan Lady Garden Floral Gold Sequin Victorian - $60 - (Walnut, IL)

This listing is for a beautiful antique (late 19th or very early 20th century) French hand fan. It is silk with a hand-painted scene of a lady in pink with a walking stick at the center. To each side of the lady are hand-painted floral designs. These are further accented with gold sequins. It has ivory-colored resin sticks with pierced designs on the end sticks. There is some spotting to the silk, the center panel with the lady has split on one edge (see pictures), and the silk has also split along the edge of the end stick. A sequin has fallen off here and there, but as you can see this fan is otherwise complete. It has a lovely design and displays very well as-is, though a careful restorer might be able to repair the edge of the center panel so the painted lady is not damaged. The fan measures 16" wide and 9" tall when fully expanded. It comes in a period appropriate faux alligator embossed paper gift box.
