Very good condition being 40 years old!This 1976 French alto is one of the most smoothest, colorful, well intonated saxophones a human can own and experience. Yes..the right Mark VI will do one just fine, as they are a hard act to follow. This Buffet however follows no one...it's a monster of a player. No..it's no violently, and impressively loud King Super 20 as it's way more mellow and graphic. It's solid yet intricate french mechanism, assisted by gold springs, makes this alto extremely fast in action and light on it's feet. The tone and balance in all ranges is unmatched. I hope you have the right mouthpiece for this one, because it deserves the best! Expect lacquer wear and small to lightly moderate ding or two...yet nothing unsightly or in the way of it's fine playing. Pads and articulation corks are in fantastic condition and have been professionally adjusted to ensure 100% sweet beauty in all registers. French mechanism has been properly adjusted and oiled with Hetmans #2 synthetic key oil. WIll included a vintage/repaired French Vandoren mouthpiece that actually plays very well with this instrument albeit there are better mouthpieces awaiting this Buffet. Also included is a solid Pro Tech case the protects perfectly and looks great to boot. This rare, unmatched playing alto is ready for the gig!
