Vintage 1952 Fender Precision Bass - $8,875 - (Bradenton, FL)

This is a very early bass. Both neck and body date to March, 1952, meaning it was made just five months into Fender bass production, which started in late October, 1951. The bass has been refinished. It was appraised by George Gruhn four years ago and the appraisal indicates some red paint in on the pots, and the original fiber saddles had been painted black. In the pictures you will also notice two filled holes, one to either side of the bridge cover. I believe the pickguard and grip bar are both repro. Other than that, this bass has all the original electronics and hardware. The bass looks good and plays easy. We buy these basses for their vintage sound and feel, and this certainly has that going for it. I have lots of pictures, so feel free to ask for more. I will ship it in a non original, but vintage hard case. The GG appraisal will be included. Serious offers will be considered. PS. I removed the original saddles and replaced them with phenolic versions because I wanted to play it, and I do, and the originals are in poor condition. However, the originals are in the case and will be shipped along with the bass.
