18th Century French Tapestry Aubusson Pillow Shell Framed Under Glass The Tapestry Features Officers Serving In The Revolution War Courting Woman The War Ended In 1799. The Men Are Wearing Officers Uniforms From Different Services Of The French Army. The Beginning Of The 19th Century Marked The End Of Rococo Style. The Style Of Excess That Lasted For A 100 Years In France. The Silk Panels On The Top And Sides Are Known As Tapestry. This Particular Technique Is Known To Be From Aubusson. It Is Part Of The Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Which Links This Style To Aubusson Very Good ConditionThere Is Wear From use. The Framing Is In Great Shape & High Quality. The Back Is Open So The Reverse Can Be Seen. The Backing Of The Pillow Has Be Replaced At Some Point. The Panel Tapestries Are Silk And Are Much More Consistent In Color Than In Photos.
